Our colleagues at PCINpact currently have in their labs two GeForce GTS 450s. The first is an Asus-produced model (DirectCU TOP), and the second was provided by EVGA (FTW). The cards were summarily subjected to GPU3 client benchmarking.Running at the default manufacturer clock speeds, the cards produced 7,800 PPD. Once overclocked from 783 to 920MHz, the PPD gain is increased to 9,100, at a power consumption of 184W.
In the interests of comparison, you can see the difference in gains between the GTS 450 and GTX 460 in our recent review.
The GeForce 450 GTS has a reduced PPD-to-Watt ratio compared to the GTX 460, but the 450's price works to its advantage; €150 compared to €180 for its big brother.
