Graphics card manufacturer Galaxy has created the world's first non-reference GTX 470 Fermi GPU.In contrast to the somewhat lacking heat management on nVidia's recent cards, this card utilises a quad heatpipe design with aluminium fins, and an easily detachable fan, all in the cause of adequately cooling the factory overclocked card. It has been reported that at maximum load, the card maintains a temperature of around 88°C.

The core is clocked to 625Mhz, shaders to 1250Mhz, and memory to 3347Mhz. This all comes in addition to the base GTX 470 specs, namely DirectX 11 support, 448 CUDA cores, 1280MB GDDR5 RAM, 320-bit interface, 4x SLI, and 2x DVI-D and HDMI connections w/ integrated audio support.
In related news, nVidia are due to launch the GeForce GTX 480 very soon, and the with graphics adapters it is based appearing sometime around the middle of this year.
