jimerickson: Happily folding smp now. and currently earning 2000ppd more than with bigadv. go figure.

jimerickson: I detest p2684, after this one is finished i am moving to smp.

Amaruk: FahCore 11 (ATI) support is scheduled to end September 1st. http://en.fah-addict.net/news/news.php?id=352

hootis: >toTow I think i saw it somewhere either on the folding forum or here, but i cant remember. just wondering if any1 knew.

toTOW: Divery> yes, a little ... on an i7 920 @3.5 GHz (no GPU), I get something like 15k PPD with regular SMP and 22k on BigAdv ...

toTOW: Hootis> did we mention it in one of our news ? anyway I don't remember :(

divery4eyes: Am thinking of adding a couple of smp boxen. is big adv still preferable over regular smp.

hootis: Dose anyone know when the ATi Gpu2 clients are going to be phased out?

MarkAGR: Sniff sniff :(

KaySL: That might explain the weirdly low point yield I'm now getting...

jimerickson: Bigadv bonus reduced from 50% to 20%

nVidia logo Graphics card manufacturer Galaxy has created the world's first non-reference GTX 470 Fermi GPU.

In contrast to the somewhat lacking heat management on nVidia's recent cards, this card utilises a quad heatpipe design with aluminium fins, and an easily detachable fan, all in the cause of adequately cooling the factory overclocked card. It has been reported that at maximum load, the card maintains a temperature of around 88°C.

The core is clocked to 625Mhz, shaders to 1250Mhz, and memory to 3347Mhz. This all comes in addition to the base GTX 470 specs, namely DirectX 11 support, 448 CUDA cores, 1280MB GDDR5 RAM, 320-bit interface, 4x SLI, and 2x DVI-D and HDMI connections w/ integrated audio support.

In related news, nVidia are due to launch the GeForce GTX 480 very soon, and the with graphics adapters it is based appearing sometime around the middle of this year.
