Server failure causes a shortage of SMP2 WUs

An SMP server, vspg9, broke down last night, taking with it two interfaces: 171.64.65.53 (vspg9a) and 171.64.65.54 (vspg9b).

The vspg9b server plays a key role in the distribution of SMP2 units, and houses all SMP2 projects whose number exceeds 6015.

A failure in the server's RAID setup is to blame for the downtime. No recovery estimate has been given yet, but the teams responsible for systems maintenance at Stanford are working on the problem.

In the intervening period, you may experience difficulties in obtaining SMP2 units. The backup server of sorts (130.237.232.140) is likely seeing a heavily increased workload, and its WUs stocks are low, so it's likely you'll be getting a fair few of the old A1 units for a while.
