AMD Catayst 10.10 now includes OpenCL-driver. Remember to download the "AMD Catalyst™ Accelerated Parallel Processing (APP) Technology Edition"-version for the support. The version included is still the: "ATI Stream SDK v2 Runtime", but it's nice to see that AMD is serious about GPGPU.

A news should come about this on the site ... if our English admins do their job

Okay okay, let me find the vodka and a revolver.
Edit: I put up the news, but my revolver jammed again. Shit.

Thanks for the translation

*idly wonders what Kay was trying to do with the revolver... and the vodka*
I wonder how complete the OpenCL support from AMD is now? Last I heard they were still missing some features compared to nVidia. Not that there'll be an OCL-based client to take advantage of it any time soon, of course

Elledan:
OpenCL based core on the other hand, soon.

Hopefully we are not far from an new AMD client release now

Quotation:
Currently, GPU3 is only available for NVIDIA GPUs, but we are working on a GPU3 release for ATI. For NVIDIA GPUs, we recommend GPU3. For ATI, we suggest GPU2 until GPU3 has passed through its QA testing (going on now).

I was expecting that 11.1 drivers would support the new 6900 without the need of a hotfix, but I guess I'll have to wait one more month

toTOW:
AMD APP v2.3 now adds OpenCL 1.1 support for:
AMD Radeon HD
6900 Series (6970, 6950)
6800 Series (6870, 6850)
as well as:
AMD Fusion APU
E-Series
C-Series
Edit: AMD APP v.2.3 - Driver compatibility (01/27/11)
- ATI Catalyst 10.12 (8.801)
- ATI Catalyst 10.11 (8.791)

Well, it looks like choosing HD6000 series on the driver download page now brings me to the same download as choosing HD5000
I guess the time has come to update drivers, replace my box and fire up the 6950 which has been sitting on my desk for 3 weeks
